Jerusalem American International School Camp

Info

Children will explore different authors and writing styles in both fiction and nonfiction books through a variety of activities that include art, literature, baking, and sports. Authors include but are not limited to Julia Donaldson, Eric Carle, Dr. Suess and classic fairytales.

Every week will also include outdoor sports, free play time in our large game room, swimming, baking, arts and crafts, games, bead room, story time and more. Campers will be doing fun safe experiments which are age appropriate.

The Jerusalem American International School Summer Program provides a unique summer experience with all activities conducted in English. Participants do not need to be fluent in English to join in on the fun. This program offers children a great opportunity to improve their spoken English while having a wonderful summer full of exciting activities. Through songs, play time, cooking and other fun activities, children will learn new words and strengthen their skills.

Our camp is located inside of Havat Hanoar (The Israel Goldstein Youth Village) in San Simon. Your children will have access to all the wonderful facilities inside this secure campus.

– All campers will go swimming in the large pool on the Goldstein Youth Village Campus!

What happens if my child does not like the morning snack?

We will always provide a sandwich with a choice of spreads and we have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables so no one will go hungry.

How early can I drop my child off in the morning?

Staff will be at the side gate promptly at 7:50 every morning and stay there until 8:05. Pick-up in the afternoon is from 3:10-3:15 (extended day pick up is from 4:10-4:15). If you drop your children off later or pick them up early, please come into the building to collect them. We have security cameras and an intercom system at the side gate to make it easy and convenient  for parents to come and go.

What if my child does not want to go swimming?

Children are never forced to go into the pool but staff is on hand to encourage them to swim.  We have two pools for your child to enjoy; the larger deeper pool requires your child to pass a swimming test given by the lifeguard. The large shallow pool is enjoyed by both younger and older campers. Campers enjoy spending time in the shallow pool playing catch and water games. If you have a specific concerns, please contact the director, Leah Altose.

Will my child get dirty at camp?

Yes! Our camp day is filled with painting, cooking, and many other fun and sometimes messy activities.  Send your child to camp in play clothing that can be easily washed.
