Hanukkah Candle Lighting at the Kotel

Candle-lighting ceremonies this year at the Western Wall will bear the theme “The Western Wall – the Light in All Our Hearts,” in prayer for the wellbeing of the IDF soldiers and for the swift return of the captives.

It is an annual tradition to watch the candle lighting ceremony at the Kotel, the site closest to the Hanukkah miracle in the presence of rabbis, public figures, families, and volunteers.

The candles will be lit in a magnificent menorah made entirely of bronze casting, more than 2 meters high and about 2 meters wide, weighing about one ton.

Chanukah candles will be lit according to the mehadrin custom from olive oil to last throughout the night.
