At Camp Ramah Israel, summer vacation becomes a journey of personal development, self-discovery, and lifelong friendships. With 75 years of experience in summer camps in North America, we bring the beloved American experience to Israel, to the pastoral setting of the Indian Youth Village.
No cell phones, with real friends and enriching activities that will boost self-confidence and develop new skills.
Disconnecting to Connect
Ramah Camp aims to create a pleasant and magical community space that allows Israeli youth to have a fun, meaningful and empowering summer experience, based on Zionist, Jewish, pluralistic and democratic values that will be expressed in the following ways:
On the Personal Side
Stepping out of the routine into an open space that allows for self-expression, personal discovery and empowerment, experiences in diverse areas of interest, and developing a sense of competence and self-confidence.
On the Community Side
Experiencing shared community life, developing awareness and responsibility for the needs of the entire camp, with mutual respect and responsibility. Encouraging taking initiatives and developing leadership skills.
On the Social Side
Getting to know and creating meaningful friendships that would not have been created in everyday life. Developing tools for self-reflection while giving respect and space to different opinions within the community and creating a dialogue with those who are different from me.
On the Israeli Side
Creating a meeting between different shades of Israeli society, increasing awareness of social, religious and political tolerance through meaningful encounters over time that build solid and deep connections between camp members. Creating a strong community within the camp that will continue to transmit the camp’s values among the Israeli population.
