Yom Hazikaron Tours with the City of David

On the eve of Remembrance Day, honor the memory of Israel’s fallen heroes with special walking tours and stories of the Israeli soldiers who fell in defense of the State of Israel.

Commemorate the memory and stories of Israel’s soldiers who, with their lives and deaths, commanded us the State of Israel. Join unique and rare tours following fighters and soldiers throughout Jerusalem. 

Following the tours, everyone will gather for an evening of poetry and remembrance at Yad Avshalom, hosted by city guide David Doron Foxman and musician Tzlil Biran.

Carved in the Rock – Tour of the Mount of Olives (2 hours)

A tour of the Mount of Olives. Pass among the graves of those who dreamed and fought for Jerusalem over the years and see how their stories are woven into the heroic stories of the current war.

Follow My Lead (2 hours)

A tour following in the footsteps of the paratroopers. Hear all about the warriors who were driven by their mission and the liberation of Jerusalem.  See how the stories of their heroism are echoed in the war with Hamas.

Civilian Heroism (2 hours)

Following the famous battles for the Jewish Quarter in 1967, learn more about the heroism of the residents of the of the Rova, and walk through its alleys and see its revival.

The Jerusalem Brigade in the Six Day War (3 hours)

A tour following in the footsteps of the fighters of the Jerusalem Brigade. During the Six Day War, in heroic battles that lasted a few hours, the fighters liberated the Governor’s Palace, continued to the Abu Tor neighborhood, and from there they paved the way to the Old City and the Jewish Quarter.
