One of my favorite activities on Yom Haatzmaut is watching the airforce flyover. I personally like to watch the planes fly over the Knesset or from the Tayelet.
BEST VIEWING SPOT – Gan Sacher, Jerusalem
The Air Force has prepared a special show to salute the citizens of the State of Israel on its 73rd birthday. This year’s theme is “Israeli Brotherhood.”
This year, the Mets will pass over more localities than in the past, from Dan to Eilat, in order to salute all Israeli citizens. The flight path will cover the entire country and there will be a special flyover the President’s House at 8:45am.
The planes will include “Mighty” (F-35I), “Falcon” (F-15), “Storm” (F-16I), “Lightning” (F-16) and “Lavie” (M346I) fighter jets. , Owl Assault Helicopters (Black Hawk), Yasur (CH-53) and Bat (Panther) and Ram Aircraft (Boeing 707), Scout (Beachcraft King) Air B-200), “Nachshon” (Gulfstream G-500), “Samson” (Super Hercules C-130J) and “Rhino” (Hercules C-130HI).
In addition, Israeli police helicopters and firefighting planes will be included in the flight show.
The acrobatic planes will fly from 8:45am-3:00pm across the country with shows over Tiberias, Nahariya, Acco, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Beer Sheva and Jerusalem (Gan Sacher, Independence Park).
