Festival DocuText is back!
A documentary film festival, in the National Library, a perfect cinematic experience under the stars (or in the air-conditioned auditorium) in an atmosphere like no other.
Five days of selected documentary films from Israel and abroad, festive open-air premieres, conversations with filmmakers, lectures, master classes and workshops. This year, films that deal with local realities and distant realities await you: Iranian culture, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, and nature’s power to heal.

- Opening Night Premier: The Sixteenth Sheep: The Reunion: A one-of-a-kind creation born from the extraordinary collaboration between Yehonatan Geffen, who wrote the lyrics, and Yoni Rechter, who composed the music for this unique album. They were joined by Gidi Gov, Yehudit Ravitz, and David Broza. Over the years, it has became a landmark of Israeli culture, with its songs and melodies passed down as an emotional inheritance from parents to children and grandchildren. The Sixteenth Sheep: The Reunion follows the preparations for the historic reunion concert, which took place during the turbulent days we all experienced, the performance itself, and above all, the overwhelming emotion it inspires in audiences.
- Closing Concert & Movie: A Live Concert with Aviv Geffen and HaTa’uyot: An intimate look at the controversial life and career of Israel’s #1 rock star. Following the screening of Aviv Aviv Geffen & Hata’uyot will take to the stage for a powerful live performance featuring the songs that have shaped Israel’s musical soundtrack for more than three decades.
- Sapiro v. Ford: The Jew Who Sued Henry Ford: In one corner, a Jewish lawyer. In the other, the motor magnate himself. American spirit personified. This investigative documentary revisits an incredible-yet-little-known scandal that exposed how antisemitic sentiments burned even at the heart of the United States.
- La’Isha: The Story of a Women’s Magazine: The complex story of La’Isha, the magazine that both defined and reflected the lives of Israeli women.
