Stalactite Caves - Soreq Caves

Soreq Cave is a nature reserve and part of the
National Parks Authority. It is an example of "Natural Beauty". Located between Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh, the caves are a great place to spend a morning or an afternoon with your family. The beautiful formations are made from years of dripping water and you must make sure to wear good shoes with traction because it can get quite slippery. There are guard rails throughout and the path is lit. Humidity in the cave is between 92%-100%.

There are 150 stairs to get down from the visitors center to the opening of the cave. With special permission you can request to drive down to the cave area. Baby strollers are not allowed in the cave.
Hours:October-March 8:00am-4:00pm
April- September 8:00am-5:00pm
Fridays: The site closes one hour before shabbat

How To Get There: Turn from the Jerusalem - Tel Aviv road (#1) towards Bet Shemesh (route 38), in the Bet Shemesh entrance turn left to routh 3866. Continue uphill until you see a large sculpture commemorating the Challenger Spacecraft. Turn left to the parking lot for the Soreq cave.
