Yom Hashoah – Holocaust Memorial Day

Holocaust Memorial Day known as Yom Hashoah V’Hagvura is commemorated with a siren at 10:00am in the morning where the cars stop and people stand in silence to remember the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust. Shops, restaurants, cinema and entertainment facilities are closed.

Yad Vashem National Ceremony

There is also a special event at Yad Vashem in the evening.  The ceremony will be held in the presence of the President of the State of Israel and the Prime Minister, dignitaries and Holocaust survivors.  You can see the live broadcast here.
