The Family Fun Clay Workshop

This workshop is designed for families to experience the wonder of working in clay while creating functional art to use and display at home, all while having a great time! It’s perfect for kids and adults from age 2 to 120.

This workshop includes everything you need to hand build, and decorate your own unique functional art.

Each participant will decorate their piece using stamps, stencils, carving tools, paint, and glaze using a common palette of colors in their own style, so your set will be an expression of unity and individuality—just like your family—unified in color palette, and also reflecting the individual creativity of each family member.

Projects to Choose From

  • Set of tea lights
  • Kiddush cup set (Large cup, little cups and tray)
  • Set of bowls, dessert/salad dishes or napkin rings
  • Seder plate set
  • Menorahs
  • Handprint challah tray

Creating in Clay Workshop

This is particularly special for tourists because when they go home, they will be taking something they made of the actual Land of Israel with them, along with the spiritual sparks embedded it! Plus, they can display and use it in their home, as a memory of their special time in Israel!

In this fun, creative and meaningful activity, participants will be inspired to connect with their imagination and creativity to make, and take home beautiful and unique functional art made of the actual clay of the Land of Israel, which is of course, imbued with its holy sparks.

The group will choose from a list of projects that include Judaica, serving ware or giftware, with each participant creating their unique version of it.

Botanical Impressions Functional Art

Participants pick leaves and flowers in a lush public garden around the corner from the studio, where they will find most of the Shivat Haminim, including pomegranate, figs, olives, and grapes, in addition to may other beautiful leaves and herbs, such as rosemary and lavender .

In the studio they place their leaves on a slab of clay, and roll over it to create an impression. They then use their slab to make a bowl, dish, plate, or serving piece, which they paint and glaze.

No previous experience needed. Includes all instruction, clay, decorative tools and stamps, paint, glaze and firing

Paint your own Artisanal Ceramics

Do you prefer to work at your own pace?  You are welcome to come join the studio’s open hours to paint your own ceramic and tour the historic courtyard.

Come and paint sculptural bisqueware made from the clay of the Holy Land.

Includes all paint, glaze, stencils, stamps, and tools, and firings, as well as inspiration and instruction needed. No time limit. Take all the time you need.
