Yaacov Agam Museum

The Yaakov Agam Museum of Art will fascinate children and adults. The museum showcases a variety of Agam’s art pieces and it is located in Rishon L’Zion (a 45 minute drive from Jerusalem).

Known as the father of Kinetic Movement in Modern Art, Agam’s pieces involve creative uses of movement and color.

The museum features Agam’s unique multicolor art – statues, staircases, wall pieces and more. Set in a large beautiful white room the colors of each piece literally pop off the wall.

The museum offers guided tours which are highly recommended so that visitors – children and adults- can understand the meaning behind the pieces and how Agam used motion to add a third dimension to each piece.

There is also a movie (in Hebrew) about the history of Agam – born in Rishon L’Zion to a Kabbalistic father and how he moved to France to continue his studies.

Agam is known for his Tel Aviv Fountain and the facade of the Dan Tel Aviv Hotel.

On holidays and weekends there are special art workshops for kids.

FIJ TIP: If you are planning to go during the week contact the museum in advance to arrange an English tour and request a special workshop. Just mention “Fun In Jerusalem” and you will be all set.

The museum is closed on Sundays.

The museum has great "selfie" spots in the sculpture garden and inside. The museum art pieces are full of color so keep that in mind when you plan your wardrobe for the day :)
