Meshek48

David and Devorah Katz, founders of Pat BaMelach, have started a new venture called Meshek48. Based on Kibbutz Rosh Tzurim, their new space runs workshops, chef meals and family events. The space is also open to artists and artisans focusing in on the worlds of food, arts and culture.

Regular Workshops

Bedazzled Focaccia Workshop (1 hour)

A joyful, hands-on experience where creativity meets comfort food. Participants make their own focaccia dough and “bedazzle” it using garden-fresh vegetables and homegrown herbs before baking.

Pizza Workshop (90 mins)

Sometimes the simplest things are the most delicious. In this immersive workshop, participants roll and shape their own dough, top it with tomato sauce, cheese, and
vegetables, and bake their pizzas in our wood-fired brick oven.

From Pita to Falafel Workshop (90 mins)

A full Israeli food experience from start to finish. Participants prepare fresh pitot, roll lentil falafel, chop a classic Israeli salad, and finish it all with a generous drizzle of tahini. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Jerusalem Bagel / Pretzel Workshop (1 hour)

Travel back in time to Jerusalem’s iconic street food. Participants learn to shape, season, and bake traditional Jerusalem bagels while exploring the history and culture behind this beloved staple.

Sourdough Workshop (session times varies as this workshop is customized)

Designed as a hands-on sourdough “clinic,” this workshop is tailored to the group’s experience level—from beginners to seasoned bakers. David guides participants through the science, technique, and intuition behind baking a great loaf.
