Sukkot at the Tower of David

This Sukkot, the Tower of David Museum Jerusalem is filled with sounds, experiences and Jerusalem magic for the whole family.

Three festive days of tours, games, costumes, music and more surprises in the historic citadel – alongside a visit to the exciting new exhibition on the life and work of Yehoram Gaon.

The activities are designed for families with children aged 5–12, and are held throughout the museum and the citadel.

A large sukkah is located for the convenience of visitors in the courtyard, next to the Tower Café.

Musical Headphone Tour

An interactive experience with wireless headphones – a combination of instruction, songs and dances that will take participants on a musical journey between Jerusalem and the Tower of David. Suitable for ages 6+. (35 mins)

Musical quiz for all the family

An entertaining interactive game about Jerusalem songs, with prizes for the winners.
From 11am, every 20 mins (last quiz at 4:20pm). Suitable for ages 6+.

Theatrical Tours

A unique encounter with actors throughout the galleries and the citadel, including a climb to the spectacular observation deck. Suitable for ages 5+

Costume booth

Kings, queens, knights and pilgrims are invited to dress up and take photos against the backdrop of the ancient fortress.

Wandering melodies: Workshop with instruments from around the world | E-dan Sekler

Through the songs of King David, Israeli songs, and inspired by songs from faraway lands, musical instruments from the world made their way to the Tower of David, from sukkah to sukkah, from country to country.

Guided Tours of Yehoram Gaon: The Exhibition

An inspiring journey through 70 years of creativity by Yehoram Gaon — the artist, actor, and singer who has left an indelible mark on Israeli culture. Through interactive installations, videos, unique clips, rare items from Gaon’s personal collection, and an audio guide in his own voice, discover the remarkable path of one boy, born in Jerusalem, who grew up to become a national icon and the soundtrack of an entire country.

A Tour of the Museum – Walk through 4,000 years of history

A tour of the Tower of David exhibitions at the Jerusalem Museum reveals how Jerusalem’s consecration to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam influenced the development and design of the city throughout the ages.The tour takes you through the impressive galleries of the new museum, which combine original archaeological finds alongside films, interactive screens, and innovative video art presentations. The experience culminates with a climb to the Fazal Tower observation deck, which offers a 360° panoramic view of the old and new city.

Tours for families in the Citadel spaces

Tours for children and the entire family in the Museum galleries
Route 1: In the footsteps of the pilgrims. Departs every hour on the hour (from 11am – last tour begins at 4pm)
Route 2: The Citadel and observation point. Tour leaves every hour on the half hour (from 11:30am – last tour begins at 3:30pm)

Creative workshop

Create wind chimes and flying butterflies inspired by artist Zadok Ben-David’s exhibit displayed in the Museum.

Relaxed Performances

A nightly show that integrates and is accessible to adults and children with special needs, based on the Relaxed Performances model.The show has made unique adjustments: a quiet rest room for those who need a break, noise-canceling headphones, accessible seating, and audio description for people with blindness and visual impairments. The audience is invited to take part in a cultural event in an inclusive, patient, and equal atmosphere – an experience that is suitable for everyone.
