Just before her tenth birthday, Ayala’s father is called up for military service and entrusts her with a secret: if they turn to a mysterious figure called the ‘Dream Master’, they can meet in their dreams. Ayala tries the trick, but discovers that dreams have a tendency to get complicated.
She embarks on a wondrous journey to bring her father home, and along the way she meets a host of characters from Leah Goldberg’s children’s poems: “Night Watchman Jonathan,” “The Children’s Song,” and even an elephant born in an elephant factory.
Just when everything seems lost, Ayala discovers that she is braver than she imagined, and that it is worth insisting on dreams.
The musical includes performances of well-known and beloved songs such as “What Do the Deer Do” and “Magic Hat,” as well as original tunes being premiered.
