Hannukah in Gush Etzion

The Gush Etzion area is located 15 minutes outside Jerusalem and is rich with history, adventure and fun. The area played an important role in protecting Jerusalem during the ’67 War and today is home to many English speakers.

Hannukah at the Biyar Aqueduct TICKETS

The Biyar Aqueduct is an ancient underground water system built by King Herod during the Second Temple period to supply Jerusalem with fresh spring water. Its impressive tunnels reveal remarkable engineering deep within the Judean Hills. This Hanukkah the Biyar Aqueduct will open for a special two-day celebration featuring history, nature, and family activities.The site will host “Beit Hashmonayim,” offering visitors a rich blend of cultural and educational experiences. The program includes a theatrical performance about the Hasmonean family, an immersive sound-and-light show inside the cave, and an interactive “light game,” for which participants are encouraged to bring flashlights.

Additional activities include:

  • a creative workshop and birdwatching and botany walks around the area.
  • Neapolitan pizzas baked fresh in a traditional taboon, along with warm seasonal treats served on site.

The Fourth Tekoa Folk Festival – FREE!

On the seventh night of Hanukkah, as the light grows brighter, the Tekoa Folk Association and the Tekoa Artists’ Center, supported by the Gush Etzion Cultural Council, invite you to a magical, heart-warming evening of original folk music. Surprise duos from the Tekoa Folk Association will take the stage in unique combinations you’ve never seen before. The festival will conclude with Gil and Roni Bar-Hadas, joining us from afar with luminous folk music that will warm your heart.
