YvelRamat Motza,
10 minutes outside Jerusalem
Have you been to Israel many times, searched for a new activity to do with your older kids or even just a grown up day out? We highly recommend the Yvel factory and visitor’s center tour just outside Jerusalem. This is more than just a factory tour…it's an experience behind the scenes of a successful international jewelry company and an inspiring story of social change in Jerusalem.
Yvel, a well-known international jewelry brand has created a new program for Ethiopian immigrants, which enables them to begin a career in jewelry design and production. Learning from the master craftsmen who design handmade Yvel jewelry in Israel and with the assistance of the Yedid Organization, these Ethiopian-Israeli students are given the skills, social help and opportunities to start their new lives in Israel. The students design a new line of jewelry sold under the “Megemeria” line of Yvel, which means “In the Beginning”. Ask them to show you the piece inspired by the Gilad Shalit March to Jerusalem. We would love to tell you more but we will leave it to the experts at Yvel to tell their story.

A hostess will guide you through the tour of the visitors' center, the school, the factory and the ancient wine cellar at Yvel. You will learn about jewelry design, see how social entrepreneurs Orna & Isaac Levy used their Zionistic ideals to promote social change, and you will enjoy the beautiful jewelry collections on display. You may even decide to buy something at the only Yvel factory store in the world. Discounted prices are direct from the factory and range from $50-$20,000.
Fun Fact: Yvel is actually the name Levy written backwards.Activity: 1.5-2 hour
