""For our son's bar mitzvah celebration in Jerusalem, our relatives came from 6 countries, 30 people who spoke 4 different languages and had not been together in over 10 years. Dr Clue's treasure hunt in the Old City of Jerusalem was the perfect activity.
All our guests (age 6 to 80) were engaged, had fun and bonded. They also discovered part of the city they never noticed before.
It was a total success!" Frederique S.
Fun In Jerusalem can help you customize your treasure hunt for your family or your event (BarMitzva, Wedding Shower, Birthday, Family Reunion). Customized hunts include a facilitator who speaks English and Hebrew. Treasure hunts can be translated into Hebrew or French as well.
Dr. Clue Treasure Hunts FAQ: 1
) How does your treasure hunt work? Teams begin the hunt with a list of clues. Clues lead you to a certain location in the hunt. Each clue is worth points, based on difficulty, and there's a question at the end that people have to answer when they're actually standing in front of the correct clue location. If they can't solve a clue, they can simply skip it and move on to another clue. Teams are given an hour and 45 minutes. Points are added up at the end the teams are debriefed.
2)
Is there a difference between a treasure hunt and a scavenger hunt? Yes, a scavenger hunt is a list of objects that you have to find or tasks you need to fulfill. A treasure hunt, by contrast, is based on puzzle and codes. Think the Da Vinci Code or National Treasure. As a team, your task is to solve clues and visit specific locations -- all the while following the bread crumbs to some fascinating locations in Jerusalem, picked out by the hunt master, that even the locals don't know about.
3
) How long does it last (and when do you do it)? A typical hunt lasts 3 hours. The schedule is entirely up to you. We can recommend a great location for lunch or dinner after the hunt.
4)
How big are the teams?
We suggest to put 4-5 people on a team.
5)
What do people get out of this besides the fun?Groups see how important it is to have agreed-upon roles, groundrules, strategy and a plan of attack. Teams will learn to be very efficient in their actions, delegating appropriately and leveraging the particular skills and knowledge of their teammates. By the end, everyone will realize that diverse teams can accomplish more than an individual, and have more fun doing it.
