Grocery Stores

Jerusalem is filled with Grocery stores and makolets. As a tourist I only knew about Supersol on Agron but there are actually a bunch of other grocery stores that are favorites among localanglos where you can find US, British, Australian and South African food items. The prices may be a little higher but the selection makes it a worthwhile visit. Make sure to remember your 5 shekel coin if you go to a regular grocery store in order to get a cart and remember that you will have to pack your bags by yourself. The following stores have free shopping carts and helpful packers.

Super Moshava: 43 Emek Refaaim, 02-566-5070

Located at 43 Emek Refaim this is a small but well stocked grocery store. Parking is metered but it is in a good location for walking or catching the #4 or #4a bus. Shopping carts are free and there is also a large produce selection. Super Moshava offers delivery. If you have any questions go to the front and they are more than happy to help and best of all the staff speaks english.

Super Deal: 28 Derech Hevron (near the Old Train Station) 02-673-2547

This is a hidden gem. Super Deal is located off of Derech Hevron and has its own private parking lot. Shopping carts are free and they even have toddler size shopping carts for your kids to push. This is often how i get my kids to help me shop. The selection is great and they have a meat and produce section as well. Super Deal offers delivery. Superdeal recently started online grocery shopping at www.citydirect.co.il

Online Grocery Delivery Services:  MyMakolet.com is a Mehadrin online grocery delivery service with a large selection of American products delivered to your door for only 20 NIS. Ask for Jason and let him know you heard about him on Fun In Jerusalem.
