Is Family Membership at local Jerusalem attractions worth it?
Memberships are available at local museums, theaters and nature parks. Each location offers different benefits for members. Below we have listed each of the benefits and added our own Fun In Jerusalem tips. Please add your comments and experiences.

Fun In Jerusalem Tip: If you have young kids then think of the Biblical Zoo as your local playground. The setting is perfect for an afternoon with the kids and the zoo is large enough that you can focus on a different area each time. There are lots of great places to have a picnic and the kids playground is fantastic. The zoo also gives kids their own card with their picture on it. For young kids this is almost as fun as the membership.

Fun In Jerusalem Tip: The Science Museum is a great place to escape the heat or the rain. The museum is large enough that you can focus on different exhibits each time. Do not plan to buy membership if you are thinking of going each holiday because the Museum is one of the most packed places in Jerusalem on a school vacation.
Benefits: Reserved seat for all the shows in your membership (shows are divided into ages 3-6 and 7-10). Three set shows come with the membership and a 4th show of your choice.

Fun In Jerusalem Tip: The Jerusalem Theater has a great selection of shows for kids of all ages. With a family membership you can get the first chance to reserve tickets to sold out shows. Children's Operas, caspion, Simba the Lion King, Children's Games and more.
Benefits: Unlimited access to Israel National Parks
Discount: Discounts at Sachne, Achziv, Hof Dor, Choreshet Tal, Beit Yannai, Chai Bar Yotvata
Fun In Jerusalem Tip: This is a great membership to take if you plan to visit more than 3 national parks during the year. Holiday vacations summer break and Fridays are a great time to visit the national parks. Near Jerusalem you can visit Ein Hemed, Castel, Beit Guvrin, Ein Prat and the Stalactites Caves (just to name a few). If you plan to walk the walls of the Old City before Yom Yerushalayim then that is included as well.
Above all if you live in Jerusalem make sure to register for the Yerushalmi card because it is 18 NIS for two years and will enable you to have discounts at events, for parking passes and at some Museums.
