Zedekiah's cave also known as Tzidkiyahu's cave is located on the eastern side of the old City of Jerusalem. It is a 9000 sq. meter cave which runs under the old City all the way till the Via Delarosa. Visitors can enter the cave and follow a path around it as they view the place where stones were quarried for the building of the Western Wall and the Temple.

According to tradition, King Tzidkiyahu used this cave to escape Jerusalem to the city of Jericho. The cave has been open to the public since 1985.
Activities: During school vacations the East Jerusalem Development Foundation runs tours and events in the cave. During off season times you can visit the cave alone although we recommend going with a guide since there aren't many descriptive exhibit signs inside. It is a great place to visit on a hot or rainy day and it is only a few minutes away from Mamilla.
The cave is not conducive to strollers and can be a bit slippery when wet. There are handrails throughout.
