Aish Hatorah JerusalemOne Western Wall Plaza POB 14149 Old City, Jerusalem 91141 02-628-5666
The best place to get a feel for what the 2nd Temple looked like is on the roof of the Aish Hatorah building in the Old City of Jerusalem. For 10 NIS per person you can climb to the most beautiful overlook of the Western Wall Plaza. There you will find a wide open space with 2 telescopes looking out on to the Western Wall Plaza and beyond and you will see a scaled model of the 2nd Temple. With the Temple mount in the background is a fantastic place to picture what it was like.

For those of you reading this from outside of Israel we have included some great photos for you to share with your kids.
Keep in mind there is no elevator and there are alot of steps and although there is a glass fence, parents must watch their children carefully up there. The roof is in complete sunlight and there is no shaded area. If you plan to walk through the Old City towards the Kotel then this is a MUST SEE. You can always stop by the Moriah bookstore at the end of Misgav Ladach St to buy a build the Beit Hamikdash kit for your kids.
Hours: 9am-6pm (Sun-Thurs) 9:30am-3pm (Fri)
How to Get There: Walk through the Old City to the main staircase leading down to the Kotel. Before the steps make a left on Rechov Misgav LeDach and then your first right down the steps of Hatamid St. You will go down two sets of staircases and then see the entrance to the new Aish Hatoarh building. The guard at the door will direct you up the stairs.
