Wolfson Museum (Hechal Shlomo)
Hechal Shlomo Wolfson Jewish Art Museum: “Jewish Identity”
58 King George St. 02-588-9010
The Wolfson Museum focuses on teaching visitors about Jewish Identity and Jewish Heritage. The Museum is located on King George St next to the Great Synagogue and is a great place to stop on your way in/out of town. The Museum has 5 rooms with a variety of exhibits. Each object tells a story and if you call in advance tours can be arranged in Hebrew, English, or Russian.
During school vacations, the Museum offers tours for families that include live actors, acting out stories of the objects in the museum and art workshops. They often have Hebrew shows for kids in the auditorium as well.
Don’t miss the view from the roof where Hechal Shlomo presents summer music on the rooftop. It is one of the few 360 degree views of Jerusalem.
