Jerusalem is a great place to be for the summer. The city is filled with festivals, activities for kids/teens and lots of fun. The following are our recommendations:
Israel Museum: Free on Tuesdays and every day in August for kids up to the age of 16. Special "Color" activities for kids ages 7+ and explore the museum with a special passport activity for ages 5+.
Agnon House: Kids can enjoy a S.Y. Agnon story on the balcony with cookies each Sunday.
Bible Lands Museum: Night in the Museum. Kids ages 7-12 can take a flashlight tour of the Museum each Wednesday during July & August
Ein Yael: Take advantage of this great living museum which is open daily throughout the summer.
Botanical Gardens: Free family program sponsored by "Berele" on Shabbat in July
Bloomfield Science Museum: Daily show for the whole family entitled "No Imagination". Workshops include Flashlight in the dark, Innovation, Static Electricity, and Water Source.
Ir David (City of David): Segway tours, Jerusalem Trivia game, Family Bike Rides on the Tayelet, Paintball, Pine Cone Workshop, Water Tunnels
If you can't handle the heat then we have a few suggestions for you...
