Girl in a Flower Pot

Download as iCal file

Wednesday, 29 September 2010, 11:00am

Based on poems by Shlomit Cohen-Asiff
Every poem is a dream. Mr. Jijema is a dream catcher. The dreams he catches he keeps in a very special place: a big magical fan. Sometimes the fan opens wide and when it is tickled, a dream awakens. Each dream has a poem. These are some of the poems: "A Girl in a Flower Pot", "Witch Ulai-La", "Princess Shin Shin", "Midday", and more. "A Girl in a Flower Pot" is a theater packed into a puppeteer's pockets. The performance is carried on the performer's body, unfolds and emerges gradually from many pockets and surprising places in her costume. In each pocket is hidden a "trigger" for one short act: a story-poem-dream. The performer reminds us of a troubadour-story teller, who sometimes handles the props with a touch of a magician. This is a mobile show resembling a one-man band suitable for intimate spaces. Ages 4-8
