The Chutzot Hayotzer Festival is a once a year arts and carfts fair in the Sultan's pool. The festival includes nightly performances from well known musicians as well as a kids area with kids activities. The kids shows and workshops are from 6:30pm-9:30pm www.artfair.jerusalem.muni.il
Kids Activities: Monday August 15, 2011 African Experience with the Dragon Ladies The Train Theater An exciting performance for the entire family with drums and African percussion, including juggling and interaction with the audience. The performance will be followed by a juggling workshop
Tuesday August 16, 2011 Lejo- Hands Up! The International Festival of Puppet Theater Jerusalem Puppet Theater from the Netherlands
Amusing short stories about a hyperactive pianist, a children's choir conductor and many more surprises.The performance will be followed by a weather vane making workshop
Wednsday August 17, 2011 Kirkasum The Train Theater a circus couple act combining juggling, acro-balance and clowning, seriously of course. The performance will be followed by a juggling workshop.
Thursday August 18, 2011 Papelito-Watch the Birdy The International Festival of Puppet Theater Jerusalem Performance from Slovenia Paper theater brought to life by the virtuoso hand of an artist, combined with a workshop where we will create and bring to life the characters participating in the play.
Sunday August 21, 2011 Dustpin Dreams- by the Far Theater Yossi the street cleaner is no ordinary street cleaner. He creates stories and this time he has created a story about a journey. Chatchut is a poor tailor who wants to be the King's tailor. Chatchut goes on a journey in the desert and meets a thirsty camel who is almost dehydrated and gives him water. In the snow steppes he meets an Eskimo, sews him an igloo and in exchange receives a dog sled. Chatchut arrives at the cloth market and meets a merchant who gives him a golden cloth. Chatchut sews a robe for the king and becomes the royal tailor.
The performance will be followed by workshop making birds out of objects.
Monday August 22, 2011 The King and The Frogs- The Far Theater In the kingdom of ''Bitsbutsa'' the ruler is a spoiled and weak king called ''The King Said.'' The frogs in the lake disturb his sleep and the king decides to expel them. This rash act provokes a series of events with an unpredictable ending. The play deals with co-dependence between all of nature's creatures. The performance will be followed by a finger puppet workshop.
Tuesday August 23, 2011 Dancy Dances Noga comes back from a trip around the world with a suitcase filled with dances, costumes and accessories. In the 45 minutes of the show she asks the children to join her in dance and rhythm. The performance will be followed by a juggling workshop
Wednsday August 24, 2011 The Magic Tomato, Koom- koom Theatre This unique performance involves the audience in the creative process and examines the essence of imagination in puppet theater. The story depicts a meeting between two clowns playing with old newspapers and a dignified Professor of Doll Science who arrives to give a lecture on the subject: What are the dolls made of? Why does theater exist? The clowns say: Anything goes! An entire carnival starts on the Professor's table and matters almost get out of hand when the magic tomato saves the day. So why does theater exist? To surprise and be surprised!
and Claude and Claudette, larger than life, will play music, dance and play.
The performance will be followed by a recycling workshop.
Thursday August 25, 2011 The Doll Circus, Koom- koom Theatre Come and see a circus with no limits and boundaries! Come and see the ballerina with the fastest legs in the world walking on the shortest tightrope in the world, the strongest man and the funniest man and more. They are dolls and strange and funny spectacles occur - a strong sumo warrior fights his sushi with a plate and a ballerina with tied legs keeps on dancing and the only circus cat in the world saves the day and, of course, and Claude and Claudette, larger than life, will play music, dance and play. A performance of dolls, masks, and clowns and movement that shows a fresh and absurd side of familiar circus characters. The performance will be followed by a movement and mask workshop.
